Essay

The Pearl:

John-steinbeck is the author of  The Pearl  and he uses animal to depict a lot of things for example he uses the scorpion for depicting evil, Oysters for depicting sadness, etc. i chose 2 animals to talk about.
The scorpion is depicting evil and it depict evil because of it stinging the baby and made it poisoned. The scorpion made the baby sick and Kino and his wife had to take it to the doctor. But the doctor won’t help Kino because he was poor. The doctor got very stubborn because he got rich. This all wouldn’t happen but the scorpion had to sting the baby and Kino had to take him to the doctor.
The oysters is depicting sadness. Because on the beach there are dead oysters parts on the sand. They ended up there because of the Pearl hunters, they kill the oysters for their pearl. That’s why it is depicting sadness.
In the end I think it’s a good idea to put animals as a part in a story. John Steinbeck find a good way to depict animal in a way. It makes the story more interesting too. I think the story is great after all.
